Leadership Prayer – Deliverance

January 6, 2010

Abba, there are so many trials and difficulties that come with living in this world. It seems as if they are increasing. We need Your perspective to get through life. We need to walk in Your ways for You know best how we should live in this sin tainted world. Help us to know You…to love You with all of our hearts, souls, minds and strengths. Help us to know Your ways and to walk in them. Help us to show the world who You are and what Your plans are for the salvation of souls and to preserve us through the coming judgment.

You alone are our G-d! You alone are Yahweh! Creator! You have set things in motion and called out a people for Your name. You have raised up leaders within those people. May those leaders know You well and lead us wisely. May they keep their eyes and hearts focused upon You. May their ears be trained to hear Your voice and to recognize it from amongst the voices of the world and the evil one.

Deliver them, Abba, from the snares that are set before them…traps to try and bring them down and nullify the work they do in Your kingdom. Protect them, Abba, from every evil that is presented to them. Keep their hearts and minds and bodies pure. May they (and we) honor You in all that is thought, said and done. May the things they teach always line up with Your teachings to us. May they walk uprightly and teach others to do the same. May they not be distracted by the things of this world…whether those things are perceived as “evil” or perceived as “good”.

Abba, I know that You love Your creation and that humans are the crown of it all. May we walk as such…not in pride or arrogance…but in humility and gratitude. May we have thankful hearts that are very aware of all that You have blessed us with. Do not let the enemy steal our gratitude from us by having us focus on this world instead of on the very great and very incredible gift that You have given us of eternity in Your presence…of Your Ruach/Spirit dwelling within us even now…of our living out eternity in joy.  We know this life is fleeting…just a speck in time…a mist that covers what is to come. May we see with Your eyes!

You have a plan, Abba…one that we may not fully understand. May we trust You in all things and for all things. May we thank You in all things and for all things…especially for those things that are hard…those things that force us to grow and draw closer to You…those things that seem the hardest to be thankful for! May we never forget You when things are going “good”! May praise for You be always upon our lips and in our thoughts and actions. May a lost world see You in the way we live…in the way we think…in the way we love one another. May they see You in us…and thirst! Flow through us like a wellspring of life to those around us.

Abba, please fill Your leaders and their loved ones with Your healing Shalom. Touch them in all ways that they need Your touch. Some are traveling. Some are battling illness in themselves or have loved ones who are battling it (may we give them practical assistance). Some are facing financial hardships (may we share with them what You have blessed us with). Some are facing discouragement (send those with encouraging words to them). Some are under attack…seemingly from all sides…and even from within the “congregation”. Send Your holy angels to help them stand strong and to help fight against the evil that surrounds them. Open our eyes to see what is happening and help us to surround Your leaders with protection and strength.

Abba, please help us to remember that we are not on a cruise ship in this life. We are on a battleship and You have given us the “armor” we need to fight the battles. Help us to remember that victory does not mean being woundless. It means remaining faithful in spite of the wounds. It does not mean never being poor…it means giving thanks for all things and remaining in You no matter what happens. It does not mean never being sick or never feeling the effects of living in sin tainted world…it means continuing to trust You in all things…knowing that You are working out something good for those who love You and who are called according to Your purpose.

2Co 4:7-11 NET
(7)  But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that the extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us.
(8)  We are experiencing trouble on every side, but are not crushed; we are perplexed, but not driven to despair;
(9)  we are persecuted, but not abandoned; we are knocked down, but not destroyed,
(10)  always carrying around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our body.
(11)  For we who are alive are constantly being handed over to death for Jesus’sake, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our mortal body.

May we remain faithful until the “end”! b’shem Yeshua
