Prayer of Thanksgiving

August 31, 2010

Abba, I praise You and thank You for Your many blessings. I thank You for Your love and Your care. I thank You for Your protection for all eternity. Thank You for the indwelling of Your Spirit which is too wondrous to really comprehend. Why You would want to dwell within us…within Your created people…I do not know. It has to be love…a love like no love humankind can ever offer or give.

Abba, help us to fully recognize who we are in You…how incredibly special and unique we are…to have a real heart connection with the Creator of all that is and all that will ever be. Help us to love You with all of our hearts, all of our souls, all of our minds and all of our strengths. Help us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Help us to love each other. Help us to do all that You have called upon us to do.

Help us to walk in the righteousness gifted to us by Yeshua. Help us to be ever mindful of the terrible price He paid on our behalf. As we walk through this life…really only deserving of death…help us to be grateful for His gift of life. Help us to be grateful for the many ways in which You touch us. Thank You for the healing You give to broken spirits, broken minds, broken hearts, broken souls, broken bodies. Help us to trust You when we do not see these healings in this life…knowing that they ARE coming in the next. And also help us to trust that You are allowing things to happen for Your glory…even when it is incomprehensible to us how You are being glorified in the things we and loved ones go through.

Abba, I especially ask You to touch those You have called into leadership in Yeshua’s body…under the headship of Yeshua. Touch them and their families and loved ones. Bless them, Abba. Protect them from the extra attacks of the evil one as he tries to bring them down…to discredit them…to attack them on every level. Keep their hearts pure. Keep their minds pure. Give them Your strength, Your comfort, Your healing Shalom.

Abba, You are so wonderful. You deserve so much more than we can give…yet You take the little we have to give and make it SO much more. You take our little and make it Your much. You touch us in ways we cannot be touched outside of You. Help us to remember that when we are going through tough times. Help us to remember Your incredible love. Help us to remember the temporariness of this life and this world. Help us to remember to focus upon You and upon each other. Help us to work as one body under Yeshua…putting aside the differences that so often come between us.

Help those in leadership under Yeshua’s headship to lead and guide and shepherd Your flock. Help them to not be drawn away from Your purpose and calling and into the things of this world…fame and fortune and privilege. Help them to remember Who they serve and to Whom they truly belong. Help us all to remember that, Abba! Help us all to consider each other as more important than ourselves. Help us to love others as we love ourselves.

Help us, Abba, to take good care of all with which You have blessed us. Help us to be good stewards over Your finances, Your bodies, Your material goods, Your health…all of which we tend to think of as ours…but which are really Yours…for we are Yours. You created us and You have bought us with a price. You have redeemed us. Help us to seek You first above all things. Help us to not be overly drawn into the creature comforts of this world. Help us to remember that You desire to be number one in our lives and that You desire to partner with us to accomplish Your will in this world.

Yahweh, I praise You. You alone are deserving of all praise. Protect us, and especially those in public positions in the body, from falling prey to the praises of men. Keep us all humble, Abba. Help us to remember that we have nothing apart from You. We can take no credit for anything that we do that is praiseworthy…for You have given us the ability to do those things.

Thank You, Abba, that we can come boldly to Your throne of grace. Thank You for the amazing amount of grace that we find there. Thank You for being our Abba…for wanting such a close, intimate connection with us. Thank You!

b’shem Yeshua
